Saint
Joseph Healthcare
Lexington, Kentucky
As part of the master planning process for Saint Joseph Hospital
and Saint Joseph East Hospital, Korda completed a mechanical
and electrical systems and equipment assessment that covered
the different generations of the main hospital including the
original building, the three additions, and Saint Joseph East.
The assessment provided a list of system upgrades to be addressed
in the short term and a long-term approach to improving and
replacing the central infrastructure of the existing main
hospital.
As a precursor to the planned new heart hospital, a series of
renovation/improvement projects took place. These projects at
the main hospital included the behavioral health unit, NICU,
the cafeteria, a new cardiac catheterization unit with two procedure
rooms, a new conference center, the oncology unit, the post
recovery nursing unit, expansion of the intensive care unit,
and the expansion of the emergency department. The projects
at Saint Joseph East included expansion of the long-term acute
care unit, the expansion of the post anesthesia care unit, and
the addition of two new operating rooms. Korda also designed
the heart hospital expansion which features new building space
for a central energy plant, central laboratory, emergency department,
and executive offices. |
