Sustainability

As an interdisciplinary firm that encompasses all aspects of building engineering, we believe that sustainability is among the most important design considerations and that all disciplines must work together to achieve maximum results. We accomplish this by incorporating sustainable design concepts into all the buildings we design and by staying current with all developments in this broad field.

LEED is the metrology most used to target and evaluate the sustainable design features for most of our projects. As a measurement tool, it is very effective in challenging both the design team and owners to consider more and different sustainable features. As our list of LEED Certified projects in a variety of categories continues to grow, Korda utilizes the lessons learned for each new sustainable project.

Our commitment to sustainable design is evident in that 60% of our design staff are LEED Accredited Professionals. We have 15 active LEED projects as well as three projects that have obtained certification, a Gold rated new construction project, a Silver rated commercial interiors project, and a Silver rated medical education center. LEED registered projects include an athletic and events center, university student center, international business complex, and several healthcare projects.
